Privacy Policy for Nudgi Focus

Effective date: May 4, 2026. This Privacy Policy explains how Nudgi Focus collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our Android app, website, waitlist, and related services.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use Nudgi Focus, we may collect or process:

  • Account information: email address, username, authentication status, access tokens, refresh tokens, and password credentials. Passwords are stored in hashed form, not as plain text.
  • App usage information: app names, Android package names, app categories, foreground app sessions, timestamps, durations, daily usage totals, and usage summaries.
  • Challenge and blocking information: apps you choose to challenge, challenge preferences, user justifications, allow or deny decisions, reasoning messages, and related timestamps.
  • Device and diagnostics information: app events, performance data, error logs, device and operating system information, network request telemetry, and crash or debugging information.
  • Website and waitlist information: email address and optional waitlist survey answers, such as apps you use on autopilot, platform preference, and product feedback.

Android permissions and foreground service

Nudgi Focus requests Android permissions only to provide its productivity protection features:

  • Usage Access: used to detect which app is currently in use and how long apps are used, so Nudgi Focus can show challenges and usage insights.
  • Display over other apps: used to show challenge or blocking screens when a challenged app is opened.
  • Notifications and foreground service: used so app protection can keep running while you are not directly interacting with Nudgi Focus.
  • Run after reboot: used to restart app protection after a device restart when required permissions are already granted.

You can revoke Android permissions at any time in your device settings. If you revoke permissions, some Nudgi Focus features may stop working.

How we use information

We use the information described above to:

  • provide app usage tracking, challenge prompts, blocking screens, and usage insights;
  • save your challenged app preferences and sync them across sessions;
  • evaluate your justifications and generate allow or deny decisions;
  • operate accounts, authentication, customer support, and account deletion requests;
  • monitor reliability, diagnose errors, prevent abuse, and improve Nudgi Focus;
  • operate the waitlist and send product availability or launch updates.

AI processing

Nudgi Focus may send app names, usage context, challenge prompts, and your justification text to AI service providers, including OpenAI, to evaluate whether app access should be allowed or denied and to generate coaching feedback. Do not enter information in a justification that you do not want processed for this purpose.

Analytics and session replay

Nudgi Focus uses PostHog to understand product usage, diagnose problems, and improve reliability. PostHog may process analytics events, device and app information, logs, network telemetry, and session replay data. Session replay can include screen interactions, taps, visible app content, and diagnostic context unless masked by the app.

Sharing of information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

  • Backend and hosting providers that store and operate Nudgi Focus data and services.
  • OpenAI for AI decision and justification evaluation.
  • PostHog for analytics, diagnostics, session replay, logs, and network telemetry.
  • Waitlist and email service providers that operate the website, waitlist, forms, spreadsheets, or product update emails.
  • Legal, safety, or security recipients when required to comply with law, protect rights, investigate abuse, or secure the service.

Retention and deletion

We keep account data, app usage data, preferences, challenge data, analytics, and waitlist records while your account exists or while needed to operate, secure, support, and improve Nudgi Focus. You can request deletion by emailing [email protected].

When deletion is requested, we delete or de-identify account data and associated app data unless we need to keep limited information for legal obligations, security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, backup recovery, or other legitimate operational needs. Backup copies are removed on the normal backup rotation schedule.

Your choices and controls

  • You can stop app tracking by revoking Usage Access or uninstalling Nudgi Focus.
  • You can stop overlays by revoking Display over other apps permission.
  • You can disable notifications in Android settings.
  • You can request access, correction, or deletion of your data by contacting us.
  • You can unsubscribe from waitlist or launch emails using the unsubscribe option if available, or by contacting us.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted transport where applicable, access controls, and hashed password storage. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's privacy

Nudgi Focus is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make changes, we will post the updated version on this page and update the effective date.
